Dr. Michael Martin’s ‘Literature of Hunting and Fishing’ (English 215) class experienced an “on campus field trip.” The class met with Dr. Gary LaFleur, Biology professor and head of the Center for Bayou Studies. The field trip was paired with reading Thoreau, so Dr. LaFleur brought in some philosophies of the natural realm to discuss. He also discussed the history and ecology of the bayou region and even caught some fish for us with some traps he laid out.
