THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Department of Applied Sciences will host a fundraising dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute.
The “French Country†themed dinner will be prepared by Jean-Marc Sens, adjunct instructor at the institute, and will feature French onion soup, fresh garden salad and chicken eleonoré. For dessert, Chef Sens will prepare and serve apple clafoutis (a custard-like baked French dessert ) with Creole cream cheese ice cream. Complimentary wine will be served with the meal.
Dr. Henry Foust, assistant professor of applied sciences; Marc Stevens, a psychology junior; and Adriana Contreras, a nursing senior; have been invited to present their research findings on fluid dynamics at the annual American Institute of Chemical Engineers conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Proceeds from the fundraising event will help off-set conference travel expenses, enhance department programs and recruiting efforts and increase program sponsored science competitions.
