THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University alumnus Ken Wells, author of the novel “Crawfish Mountain,†scheduled for release by Random House on Oct. 23, will be on campus at 9:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Nicholls bookstore to sign copies of his book before leaving on a promotional tour that will take him to several states and New Orleans.
According to Publisher’s Weekly, the 384-page novel, which sells for $24.95, is “entertaining†and has a plot with “many wild turns†and “a feel-good ending.†Random House calls it “a rollicking, hilarious tale of corporate corruption and political shenanigans set in Louisiana’s embattled wetlands.†Wells says his goal was “to tell a fun story about a serious subject, the decimation of Louisiana’s wetlands.â€
He is a senior editor of Conde Nast Portfolio, a new monthly magazine with a business orientation. Before joining the sister publication of Vanity Fair and the New Yorker last year, Wells was editor-in-chief of Wall Street Journal Books and, earlier, a Page One editor of the Journal.
