‘Numb3rs’ producer to headline Nicholls lecture

THIBODAUX – Julie Hebert, a Nicholls State University graduate and writer/director for theater, film and television, will headline the 2008 Bonnie J. Bourg Lecture Series and Luncheon, slated for Thursday, April 3.

stg-scrn-julie-hebert.jpgHebert’s lecture will kick off at 10:30 a.m. in Talbot Theater, followed by the noon luncheon with Dr. Bonnie Bourg, retired vice president for student affairs, in the Plantation Suite of Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

Hebert’s latest play, “Tree,” was workshopped last summer at the Bay Area Playwrights Festival and was honored with the Baroness MacLean Award from New Dramatists. She has written and directed episodes of “Third Watch,” “ER” and “The West Wing” and currently works as a co-executive producer for the television series “Numb3rs.”

Hebert will discuss her experience as a writer/director/playwright – covering such topics as her journey “from the Bayou to Hollywood” and the impact of the recent writers strike.

Tickets are $12 each and must be purchased by 4 p.m. Monday, March 31. Call (985) 448-4176 for more information.
