Walk/run to benefit Nicholls’ disabled

THIBODAUX – The Student Government Association at Nicholls State University will host its fifth annual community 5K walk/run for charity Saturday, April 5.

Co-sponsored by a grant from the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living, the event will generate proceeds to support the university’s efforts to improve campus accessibility to its disabled population. An additional portion of the proceeds will be donated to the United Way of South Louisiana.

Admission for the general public is $10 for individuals or $8 apiece for team members. For Nicholls students, faculty, staff, alumni and high school students, admission for individuals is $7 – or $5 apiece for team members. Teams consist of five members.

The community walk/run will kick off at 9 a.m. on the Nicholls campus and will feature a kiddie fair, refreshments, a health fair and T-shirts for race participants. All community members and businesses are invited to offer their support.
