Nicholls honors student employees

THIBODAUX – The Office of Student Employment at Nicholls State University recently handed out its highest honors at the Student Employee of the Year awards ceremony.

A committee of faculty and staff members selected the recipients based on initiative, reliability, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills and a commitment to high standards and quality of work.

Emily Alford, a Thibodaux native and employee of the Louisiana Center for Women & Government, was named the 2007-2008 Outstanding Student Employee. Alford is a family and consumer sciences senior. The Paraprofessional Support Award was presented to Steven Ackman, an employee of the Office of Instructional Technology Support. A marketing senior, Ackman hails from Morgan City. Cambria Bouzigard, an employee of University College, was named the Departmental Support Award winner. Bouzigard is an elementary education senior from Cut Off.

A $250 scholarship was awarded to the Outstanding Student Employee. Scholarships of $125 each went to the Paraprofessional Support and the Departmental Support award winners.
