Proceeds from the three-hour event will benefit Nicholls students with outstanding grades who demonstrate leadership ability. More than $280,000 has been raised since the fundraiser began in 1996, with more than 200 Nicholls students having received scholarships.

“This event continues to demonstrate the strong commitment of the great friends and supporters of Nicholls,” said Dr. David Boudreaux, vice president for institutional advancement. “Not only is the evening enjoyable for those who participate, but the funds we raise enable us to bring well-qualified students to our campus in ever greater numbers. We greatly appreciate the generosity of all who take part.”

All food and wine is donated by area businesses and individuals, and the event will feature live music from Jazmine as well as silent and live auctions.

Items to be auctioned include an original primitive art painting by Alvin Batiste; a 2008 Mardi Gras print autographed by celebrities; a football autographed by Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning; a Sony Playstation 3; and a variety of fine wines from the cellars of Shirley Picou.

Tickets are $75 per couple or $50 per person. Gold sponsorships are $500 and include 20 tickets. Checks should be made payable to the NSU Foundation and mailed to the Nicholls Foundation, P.O. Box 2074, Thibodaux, LA 70310. For additional information, call the Office of Institutional Advancement at (985) 448-4134.
