Badeaux addresses Louisiana Women’s Policy and Research Commission

Dr. Laura Badeaux, director of the Louisiana Center for Women and Government (standing second from right), conducted a presentation on the history of the Louisiana Women's Policy and Research Commission – as well as the upcoming 2009 National Women's Leadership Summit in New Orleans – at the commission’s Meet-and-Greet session on Thursday, Dec. 18, in Baton Rouge. The Louisiana Women's Policy and Research Commission was created by the Louisiana legislature in 2003 to advise the governor on women's policy and to address the needs and concerns of women in Louisiana. The commission identifies and analyzes trends of negative impact regarding the health and prosperity of women and monitors the status of women in Louisiana in order to evaluate economic, educational, health concerns, needs and hardships.
