THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation passed a resolution Tuesday, May 19, encouraging the state legislature, Gov. Bobby Jindal and various state boards to resolve the current budget shortfall – and systematically prioritize higher education for future state budgets.

“I deeply appreciate the leadership demonstrated by the board of directors of the alumni federation,” said Deborah Raziano, director of alumni affairs and 1974 Nicholls graduate. “By passing this resolution, they have affirmed to our legislators just how important Nicholls has been to them and how important it continues to be for everyone in this region. I am proud of them for taking a stand and sincerely hope that their message reaches those who can address the budget crisis for higher education.”
