THIBODAUX – Working media are invited to the President’s Conference Room in Nicholls State University’s Picciola Hall at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, for a joint presentation by representatives of IBM and faculty of the College of Business Administration. The two entities recently announced they are working together on new curricula in the Nicholls computer information systems program.
New courses have been designed to help students develop the skills required for jobs in emerging fields – including electronic medical records, intelligent transportation systems and smart energy grids. Beginning in the fall 2009 semester, undergraduate, MBA and EMBA students in the College of Business Administration will be able to take courses in Information Technology Service Management – or, the practice of managing IT systems in line with an organization’s physical assets and services.
“This is another example of the college’s attempt to maintain updated and relevant curricula in all of its business programs,” Dr. Shawn Mauldin, dean of the College of Business Administration, said. “All students in the college will benefit greatly from this association.”
