THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University invites students, their families and the entire community to the annual Family Day celebration, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, next to John L. Guidry Stadium. The Family Day tradition began at Nicholls in 1983.
Themed “Fete de la Famille” – or “Family Festival” – the celebration will include live music by Treater, a popular swamp pop band; numerous food booths offering jambalaya, hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy and more; large inflatables; face paintings; and displays and interactive games sponsored by departments and organizations.
Family Day participants may purchase reduced-admission tickets to the 1 p.m. Nicholls vs. McNeese State football game for $10 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at West Gate 2 and East Gate 1 of the stadium. Food tickets purchased for use at Family Day booths will also be accepted at concession stands inside the stadium.
The Family Day fest will end at 12:30 p.m., prior to kick-off, with a pep rally featuring the Pride of Nicholls Marching Band, cheerleaders, Col. Tillou and the Colonettes.
