Nicholls College of Business maintains prestigious accreditations

THIBODAUX – The College of Business Administration at Nicholls State University maintained two accreditations in April with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or AACSB International. Nicholls joined 63 schools in maintaining its accreditation in business and 17 schools in maintaining accreditation in accounting.

AACSB accreditation is recognized as the hallmark of excellence in business education and has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business schools.

“I am delighted that AACSB International continues to recognize the excellence of this institution, and I want to commend our fine faculty, staff and students for making it possible,” Dr. Shawn Mauldin, dean of the College of Business Administration, said. “These accreditations give Nicholls a serious competitive edge as we strive to recruit the best and brightest students.”

Dr. Sonya Premeaux, associate dean of the College of Business Administration and associate professor of management, said the reaffirmation and the positive feedback received from the AACSB visitation team “confirmed what most of us already knew. The College of Business Administration offers a quality business education in an environment of care and concern for each individual student. In other words, students truly do receive excellence with a personal touch.”

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
