THIBODAUX – Brandie Toups, director of continuing education at Nicholls State University for the past 10 years, has been appointed acting director of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union, replacing outgoing director Francisco Chacon.

“My goal is to maintain consistency and to oversee a seamless transition that will go unnoticed by our students,” Toups said. “I am very excited about the fall semester, and I look forward to working with all our student organizations, including the Student Programming Association.”
Toups, who will retain her position in the Office of Continuing Education as she assumes her new duties, graduated from Nicholls in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in management. In January 1996 she joined the Nicholls staff as an admissions counselor.
A native of New Orleans, Toups lives in Thibodaux with her husband, daughter and son.
