Nicholls Jubilee writer’s conference slated for Saturday

THIBODAUX – For an aspiring writer or even a devoted reader who wants to know how authors do what they do, Nicholls State University’s eighth annual Jubilee Writer’s Conference and Book Fair delves into the secrets of writing and publishing. The day-long event is slated to kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Terrebonne Parish Main Branch Library, 151 Library Drive in Houma.

Lisa Jackson, best-selling American author of more than 75 romance novels and romantic suspense novels, will serve as keynote speaker. Other writers scheduled to participate include Cherry Adair, L. A. Banks, Marcel Bienvenu, Stella Cameron, Chere Coen, Don Davis, John Doucet, Woody Falgout, Rochelle Frazier, Heather Graham, Sheila Hebert-Collins, Ernest Hill, Lisa Jackson, Deborah LeBlanc, David Middleton, Stella Nesanovich, Camille Pitre, Alex Sokoloff, Rosary O’Neill, Ken Wells, Paige Wheeler, Cherry Wilder and many others.

The conference is supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the Office of Cultural Development and the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council. Co-sponsors include the Friends of Terrebonne Parish Public Library, Bent Pages Book Store, SWDI – Special Waste Disposal Inc., ABDON Callais Offshore and Community Bank.
