THIBODAUX – For the first time, U.S. News & World Report magazine has ranked Nicholls State University among the best regional universities in the southern United States. Rated 89th, Nicholls is second among Louisiana’s public regional institutions.
“I am delighted with this recognition,” Dr. Stephen T. Hulbert, university president, said. “It is further proof that Nicholls is not only fulfilling, but surpassing, its mission of educating the workforce of tomorrow by providing our students with a well-rounded university experience.”
U.S. News & World Report defines a regional university as one that offers a “full range of undergrad programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs.”
