Nicholls ‘Monster Piano Concert’ scheduled for Sept. 18

THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Foundation and the Nicholls Department of Music will host the fifth annual Monster Piano Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Mary M. Danos Theater (formerly Talbot Theater) on campus.

Sixteen pianists, including faculty, staff and guests, will perform on eight Steinway grand pianos. Refreshments will be served during intermission.

“The Monster Piano Concert has become a much-loved tradition at Nicholls,” Dr. David Boudreaux, vice president for institutional advancement, said. “Every year we look forward to featuring some of the finest musicians in south Louisiana, and with Nicholls being the only public university in Louisiana to have been granted ‘All-Steinway’ status – a globally sought-after distinction – this concert will be all the more special. I hope everyone in the community will make plans to attend.”

All proceeds will help renovate the Danos Theater. Tickets are $50 each, or $25 for students with a Nicholls ID card, and include food, drink and entertainment.

To make reservations, call (985) 448-4005. For additional details, go to www.nicholls.edu/perform/calendar/monster-piano-concert.
