Nicholls Alumni Federation announces new culinary group

THIBODAUX, La. — The Nicholls State University Alumni Federation and Chef John Folse Culinary Institute have announced a new alumni group aiming to reconnect members of the school’s popular degree program.

“Our alumni got the full college experience as a student, so it’s important that they continue that experience after they graduate,” said Hillary Charpentier, outreach and recruitment coordinator and Chef John Folse Culinary Institute alum. “This group should allow recent graduates to be able to network, and help bring successful graduates back to campus for cooking demos or lectures.”

The Culinary alumni group joins the College of Business Administration and College of Education as degree-specific subgroups of the Nicholls Alumni Federation.

“The Nicholls Alumni Federation is all about involving, collaborating and keeping up with our former students,” interim Alumni Federation Director Katherine Gianelloni said. “Chef John Folse Culinary Institute graduates work all over the globe but still remain such a close-knit group. This is a way for them to remain even more connected.”

Members of the group will have the ability connect with other culinary graduates as well as be eligible for all other federation membership benefits. When the group reaches 50 members, they will earn a voting spot on the Nicholls Alumni Federation Board.

A culinary degree and active alumni federation membership are required to join the group.
