Nicholls Art’s annual faculty exhibit set for mid-to-late October

THIBODAUX, La. — From the representational to more abstract, the Nicholls State University Department of Art will show off its faculty work later this month.

The annual art faculty exhibition will include paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures, graphic design work and prints by the studio faculty.

“The exhibition gives students, visitors and the campus community a glimpse into the creative and professional side of the art faculty,” said Ross Jahnke, exhibitions coordinator and professor of art. “This year, you will be able to see the client work of the graphic design faculty, which will show some of the work we have done for this community, as it is real client work.”

Professors represented will be Jeff Brown, ceramics; Jean Donegan, ceramics; Jeremy Grassman, graphic design; Joseph Holsapple, painting; Jahnke, printmaking; Deborah Lillie, photography and mixed media; Trisha Rabalais, graphic design; and Michael Williams, sculpture.

The exhibition will run from Monday, Oct. 15 to Friday, Oct. 26 in the Ameen Art Gallery, 200 Talbot Hall. Gallery hours are  9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 17, a reception for the artists will be held.

Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
