Nicholls selected as a 2019 Hidden Gem of Southeast

THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University was selected as a Hidden Gem in the Southeast region by an online ranking resource.

Nicholls was one of three schools in Louisiana to make the list. College Raptor aims to help families discover colleges based on academic and cultural fit.

“It is wonderful to be recognized in this way,” said Dr. Sue Westbrook,  provost and vice president of academic affairs. “We may not be a large, flagship university, but as a regional university, we offer many quality programs of study to prepare our graduates for the work world at a very competitive price.”

College Raptor reviewed numerous factors including the number of applications received, graduation rates, campus diversity, endowment per student and other metrics reported via the National Center for Education Statistics.

The southeast region includes universities and colleges from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
