Nicholls Only Louisiana college to Make Top 50 List for Students with Disabilities

THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University was recently ranked in the top 50 Colleges for Students with Disabilities by Great Value Colleges.

Nicholls was ranked No. 44 and was the only school from Louisiana to make the list.

Great Value Colleges built its rankings by sifting through several lists that help students with disabilities pick a college. After looking through these lists, they find the colleges that consistently performed high and conducted their own research to ensure the colleges are disability-friendly.

Nicholls was selected for its commitment to providing accessibility and services that allow every student to achieve academic excellence regardless of their unique needs.

The ranking touts Nicholls for its Bridge to Independence Program, which enables students with autism and other intellectual disabilities gain employable skills. It is the only program of its kind in Louisiana certified by the Department of Education.

Nicholls also houses the Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders, and Dyslexic Advantage gives the college 10 stars out of 10.
