Nicholls Hosts Work of Artist With International Acclaim From January to March

THIBODAUX, La. — Visit the Nicholls Ameen Art Gallery over the next month to view works examining the ramifications of tourism.

Dr. Jon Griffin Donlon’s exhibition, “Others InSite,” is free and open to the public. The Lafayette native’s work has been displayed worldwide.

The photography from this exhibition comes from two decades of global travel, including Africa, Asia and Europe. While traveling, Dr. Donlon looks for not the typical tourism pictures but images that capture the human condition.

This collection will be on view at the gallery from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until Feb. 7. Selected works will be on display at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden Gallery from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from Feb. 15 to March 15. This exhibition will also be free and open to the public.

Dr. Donlon graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He earned on to earn his doctorate at the University of Illinois. His doctorate work specialized in controversial leisure and tourism.
