Nicholls Online Ranked Third in Louisiana by U.S. News and World Report

THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University’s online undergraduate degree program received a significant boost in the U.S. News & World Report online rankings released earlier this month.

Nicholls Online placed 165 nationally among Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. This is up from 252 a year ago and ranks third in Louisiana.

“The faculty who teach through Nicholls Online have been continuously working on improvements with their courses to offer the best possible classes for their students,” said Dr. Andrew Simoncelli, director of distance education. “The Office of Distance Education has been trying to get the faculty the training and tools they need to succeed while offering quality customer service to students.”

U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 1,600 distance education bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and sorts them based on factors such as student engagement, faculty training, student services, and technology and peer reputation.

Nicholls Online offers nine online undergraduate programs in history, English, business administration, nursing, health sciences, psychology, interdisciplinary studies, sociology and political science. To learn more, visit www.nicholls.edu/online.
