Performing Arts Camp to Bring “Aladdin, Jr.” to Danos Theater

THIBODAUX, La. — The Nicholls State University Office of Continuing Education invites you to an Arabian night with the production of Alladin, Jr.

Forty-one up-and-coming singers, actors and dancers between the ages of 7-17 enrolled in the Performing Arts Camp will put on the 60-minute production. Shows will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 9 and 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11, in the Mary and Al Danos Theater.

Aladdin, Jr. is based on the 1992 animated musical and 2014 broadway show. The timeless story centers around Aladdin, a street rat who learns his true worth lies within, and the adventure-seeking Princess Jasmine. This adaptation features expanded characters, new songs and even more thrills.

Campers have worked daily from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. since June 21 on various topics related to theater including lighting, sound, hair, makeup, costumes, improv, comedy, music and much more.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at nicholls.edu/continuing-ed.
