THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University awarded 566 degrees to students during its fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 15.
Eight students received the President’s Medal of Honor for graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Those students are:
- Madison Ard, psychology;
- Drew Bergeron, computer information systems;
- Emily Gros, birth-5 early interventionist;
- Adella Guidroz, biology;
- Rachel Lefort, mathematics;
- Kylie Lirette, accounting;
- Maria Smith, criminal justice;
- and Carly Watts, political science.
In addition to those students, 25 students graduated summa cum laude for graduating with a 3.9 GPA or higher. Summa cum laude is the highest academic honor a student can achieve.

- Tayler Breaux, culinary arts;
- Katie Charrier, health sciences;
- Jade Cisneros, psychology;
- Kevin Cope, business administration;
- Shannon Dempsey, English;

- Destiny Hotard, elementary education;
- Shedreanna Johnson, biology;
- Casey Labat, computer information systems;
- Adam Larsen, business administration;
- Claire Leblanc, secondary education;
- Michael Moss, computer information systems;
- Nathan Mylie, psychology;
- Ethan Naquin, biology;
- Aarati Pant, accounting and finance;
- Lexi Robichaux, psychology;
- Jacob Samanie, English;
- Danielle Schexnayder, elementary education;
- Elizabeth Schouest, health sciences;
- Danielle Skelton, health sciences;
- Morgan Toups, accounting and finance;
- and Emily Venable, interdisciplinary studies.
