Nicholls State University President & Seven Others to be Inducted into the Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business Hall of Fame

THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls President Jay Clune, PhD and seven others will be inducted into the Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business Hall of Fame at the 2023 Hall of Fame Luncheon on Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. in New Orleans. 

During the luncheon, New Orleans Saints and Pelicans Owner, Gayle Benson and Louisiana First Lady, Donna Edwards will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards and also inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame. This is the first Hall of Fame induction since 2017 following a break from COVID-19. 

“We are elated to return since COVID to the Louisiana Hall of Fame, a distinguished program of the Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business established in 1994,” said Dr. Laura Badeaux, executive director of Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business.

Other inductees to be recognized at the luncheon includes:

  • Maj. Andrea Renee Brinkley, civil department head, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office
  • Laurie Guimont, career coach, Pepper Leaf
  • Sharon Lavigne, environmental justice activist and board member, Catholic Climate Covenant
  • Julie Stokes, CEO of Flame Consulting, CFO of Stokes & Associates, president & CEO of Ellevate Louisiana, co-founder of the Cancer Advocacy Group of Louisiana
  • Jay Dardenne, Louisiana commissioner of administration
