THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls State University is set to reopen for normal operation Monday, September 16, 2024, after enduring the direct impact of Hurricane Francine.
Our partners at Entergy have restored power to all of campus this afternoon. We are extremely grateful for all of their hard work in our region.
As was previously stated, on-campus classes will resume on Monday morning. All normal operations and scheduled activities will also commence.
Campus residents can begin returning to campus at Noon, Sunday, September 15. The Office of Residential Living will provide further details for return.
The university will be reclaiming Fall Break #1, which was scheduled for September 26-27, to make up for missed work due to the hurricane closure. Nicholls faculty will be contacting students soon regarding a plan for continuation of classes, including coursework/exam dates that may have been affected by the closure. Thursday, September 26 will make up for classes missed on Thursday, September 12, and Friday, September 27 will make up for classes missed on Wednesday, September 11.
