THIBODAUX, La. – Individual tickets are on sale for the Deep Down South Mini Tour featuring the Michael Kaplan Superband on Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary and Al Danos Theater. This concert is part of Nicholls’ College of Liberal Arts performance series “Vive Les Arts.”
Michael Kaplan is a Philadelphia-based trombonist, composer, bandleader and educator. The Superband’s jazz concert will be the second event of the Vive Les Arts performance series lineup.
The remaining events will include musical and theater productions showcasing the talent and creativity of the Nicholls’ students and faculty, with a Christmas sing-along on Dec. 7 and the Nicholls Players production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring on March 21. The series will culminate in the Student Union Cotillion Ballroom on April 14 with an evening of music and fine dining.
Proceeds from this series will support the College of Liberal Arts’ performing arts initiatives. Tickets for the Michael Kaplan Superband Deep Down South Mini Tour are $25 each and can be purchased at www.nicholls.edu/vive-les-arts.
