THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls Society of Human Resource Management received a $10,000 contribution from Pamela Trepagnier in support of the organization’s growing enrollment and competition efforts.
The funds will be used to help with costs associated with student travel to attend and participate in SHRM conferences in addition to professional clothing for students competing.
Nicholls SHRM Advisor Dr. Melanie Boudreaux said, “This is the largest donation the organization has ever received, and it will help students for years to come. We couldn’t be more appreciative of this support.”
Recently, Nicholls SHRM earned first place in the Louisiana State SHRM Case Competition continuing a legacy of excellence with eight first-place wins since 2015.
For the competition, students receive a scenario describing a company that is facing a HR issue. Students are given a week to produce a solution and a presentation arguing why their solution is best for the panel of judges.
In addition, Nicholls SHRM won the Superior Merit Award, the highest award a student chapter can receive, for the 2024-2025 school year. Chapters are recognized based on chapter programming, professional development of members, support of the human resource profession and SHRM engagement.
