THIBODAUX, La. – Tickets are on sale for Nicholls Players’ performance of Joseph Kesselring’s classic dark comedy, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” running Thursday through Saturday, March 19-21, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. in the Mary and Al Danos Theater on Nicholls campus.
“Arsenic and Old Lace” tells the story of two charming old ladies with a murderous secret and the antics of their nephews: Teddy, who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, Jonathan, who is on the run from a mental institution, and Mortimer, a theatre critic who is debating marrying the woman he loves while trying to get a handle on his mad relatives. The play will feature a talented cast of students, bringing the show to life for a community event suitable for all ages.
“We are thrilled to bring this beloved classic to the Danos stage,” said Dr. Anna Broussard, theater director for Nicholls Players and assistant professor of speech. “Our students have worked incredibly hard to capture the play’s wit and humor, and we can’t wait to share that energy with the community.”
“Arsenic and Old Lace” marks the fourth event in the Nicholls College of Liberal Arts Vive Les Arts performance series. The series finale is set to feature an evening of music and fine dining in the Student Union Cotillion Ballroom on Tuesday, April 14.
Proceeds from this series will support the College of Liberal Arts’ performing arts initiatives. Tickets for the production are $15 for students and $25 for the general public and can be purchased here. Those with Vive Les Arts season tickets are to attend the March 21 production.
Individual tickets for the Vive Les Arts series finale will be on sale soon. For any questions or help, please contact janet.marcel@nicholls.edu or call 985-448-4657.
