Nicholls Awards 565 Degrees at Fall Commencement

THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University awarded 565 degrees during its fall commencement ceremony on December 14. 

Two graduates completed their undergraduate coursework with a perfect 4.0 GPA. These students received the President’s Medal for their academic success. Those students are: Shannon Bourg, an interdisciplinary studies major from Pierre Part, and Sydnei Mabile, a psychology major from Napoleonville. 

In addition to those two students, 12 students finished summa cum laude for graduating with a 3.9 GPA or higher. Summa cum laude is the highest academic honor a student can achieve.

Those students are: Rebekah Breaux, a health sciences major from Houma; Kaylie Brinson, a nursing major from Gibson; Mia Crotwell, an interdisciplinary studies major from Lockport; Sarah Gaudet, an interdisciplinary studies major from Thibodaux; Mark Leblanc, a computer information systems major from Houma; Sarah Miller, an accounting and finance double major from Houma; Bethany Plaisance, an art major from Paulina; Brenin Roddy, an accounting and finance double major from Houma; Cameron Simmons, an accounting major from Thibodaux; Blaire Verdun, an accounting and finance double major from Gray; Mariah Walker, a history major from Houma; and Jacob Williams, a history major from Morgan City.
