How can I take attendance in my live Zoom sessions?

    • When recording Zoom sessions, Zoom downloads 4 files into a folder to your computer after the session.  The .mp4 file is the video file that you would want to share with your students.
    • In the file, a chat.txt file is saved.  If you have your students, type in their first and last name into the chat box when they log in you can go back to this file to check attendance at a later time instead of calling roll in class.

Students can’t hear me in Zoom?

    • Test out your microphone and speakers
    • Unmute your microphone in your Zoom session
    • If you have Windows 10, you may have to edit the privacy settings to allow the Zoom app to access your microphone. (frequent problem)

Can students dial in for Zoom audio sessions?

    • Zoom has suspended this option with the increased traffic to their service.  Computer only audio is available for free sessions.

How do I increase the font size while using Respondus?

If you are a Windows user, to adjust the font size, click on the “i” icon in the LockDown Browser toolbar. This will open a new window where you can adjust the “zoom level” for your test. Zoom magnifies the entire page, including pictures.  Be sure to click the “apply” button after making changes. You can also use the keyboard combination of “Ctrl” + “+” . Each time you tap the “+” key while holding the “ctrl” key, the screen magnification will increase until it reaches the maximum zoom level.
