THIBODAUX – The entire Nicholls State University community, including students and their families, is invited to help the university celebrate “Fete de la Famille,” the annual Family Day celebration, on Saturday, Oct. 18, next to John L. Guidry Stadium on the Nicholls campus.
The festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with live music by Treater and numerous food booths offering jambalaya, hamburgers, nachos, cotton candy, soft drinks and more. Children will enjoy jumping in several large inflatables, having their faces painted and making crafts. In addition, several Nicholls departments and organizations will have displays and interactive games for the children.
Faculty, staff and students are also invited to bring their well-mannered pets to the University College booth for pet treats – as long as the pets are leashed or kenneled.
The festivities conclude around 1:30 p.m., just before the 2 p.m. kick-off of the Nicholls-Stephen F. Austin football game in Guidry stadium. Family Day participants may purchase reduced-admission tickets to the football game for $5 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at West Gate 2 and East Gate 1 of the stadium. After 1:30 p.m., tickets will be sold at regular admission price.
Food tickets purchased for use at Family Day booths will be accepted at concession stands inside the stadium.
