2025 Tax Information
IRS Form 1098-T is now available on your Banner Self Service account.
If you have trouble logging into your Banner account, please email helpdesk@nicholls.edu and someone will assist you.
The IRS Form 1098-T is provided, as required by the IRS, to report information that may assist you in competing your individual tax return. The information listed on IRS Form 1098-T may be different than the amount you actually paid towards qualified expenses.
- The IRS Form 1098-T is an information form filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
- The IRS Form 1098-T that you receive reports amounts paid for qualified tuition and related expenses, as well as other related information during the tax year.
- Nicholls State University will electronically provide the 1098-T form to eligible students. The form is available on the student’s Banner Self Service account.
- Log in to Banner Self Service
- Select student
- Select student accounts
- Select tax notifications
- Enter the tax year
- Click Submit
- Why doesn’t the amount billed on my 1098-T form match my records?
- When reviewing your records, please take into consideration your actual biling/registration dates. The 1098-T form reflect amounts billed in the calendar year. Accounts billed in prior or next calendar year are not included.
- Example: If you registered for your Spring courses in November or December, they will be included on your current 1098-T. If you registered for your Spring courses in January, they will be included on your next year’s 1098-T.
