Bank boosts Nicholls Jubilee festival

THIBODAUX – Whitney National Bank donated $7,500 to Nicholls State University in support of the 2008 Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities.

The contribution funded the festival’s printed materials, including commemorative posters, postcards, flyers and the color magazine detailing festival events.

“Whitney Bank has been a long-time supporter of the arts and humanities and of Nicholls State University,” said Donald A. Hingle II, city president of Whitney National Bank in Houma. “We firmly believe in investing in the community and providing people with opportunities for world-class education and entertainment.”

The Jubilee celebration, now in its tenth year, highlights cultural, artistic and scholarly events, including plays, musical performances, art exhibitions, literary and historical presentations, scientific discussions, workshops, poetry readings, lectures and culinary demonstrations – all open to the public and most free of charge.

Jubilee events are scheduled until April 25. For more information, go to www.nicholls.edu/jubilee.
