THIBODAUX – The 14th annual Sponsor A+ Scholar Wine and Food Extravaganza at Nicholls State University will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Nicholls students with outstanding grades and leadership ability. Nearly $400,000 has been raised since the fundraiser began in 1996, with more than 200 Nicholls students having received scholarships.
“The Sponsor A+ Scholar extravaganza has become one of the most successful traditions at Nicholls,” Dr. David Boudreaux, vice president for institutional advancement, said. “We look forward to another productive event, and we appreciate all of our friends and supporters for their commitment to educational excellence at this university.”
In addition to various dishes and wines from more than a dozen restaurants and vendors, the evening will include a live and silent auction. Items for auction include NFL football helmets autographed by Archie, Eli and Peyton Manning.
The local band Jazmine will provide entertainment.
Tickets are $50 each, or $75 per couple, and can be purchased in the Office of Institutional Advancement in Picciola Hall. “Gold” sponsorships are $500 each and include 20 tickets. Checks should be made payable to the Nicholls Foundation.
