Nicholls dyslexia center to host second annual conference

THIBODAUX – The Louisiana Center for Dyslexia and Related Learning Disorders at Nicholls State University will host its second annual conference on Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

Themed “Unmasking Their Potential, 2010,” the conference is open to parents, teachers, guidance counselors and anyone else interested in making a difference in the lives of students with dyslexia.

The conference will feature a variety of professional breakout sessions as well as a keynote address by Linda Farrell, speaker, author, educational consultant and founding partner of Readsters.

Registration is $55 per attendee until Tuesday, Jan. 26 – and $65 thereafter, with on-site registration available. Full-time students will be admitted for $25 per person.

The conference is sponsored by the Giardina Family Foundation, M&M Bumper Service and Robin and Dawn Gonsoulin, and supported by the Louisiana branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
