Nicholls updates registration policy

THIBODAUX – Effective fall 2010, Nicholls State University will implement new registration procedures that will result in payment penalties for late registration and late payments. The goal is to encourage students to commit to the courses they schedule during registration and to discourage late registration – thus resulting in more effective course management for the university.

With the new policy, students will be entitled to attend scheduled classes upon completion of registration, but they will be immediately indebted to the university and obligated to pay all tuition and fees associated with registration. Payments are due in full by 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, one day prior to the first class day. A late payment of $100 will be incurred thereafter. Students who register after this date will also incur a late registration charge of $100.

Moreover, students who decide not to attend their chosen courses must un-register by 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 17, in order to be released from their financial obligation and subsequent indebtedness.

Students will be responsible for any tuition and fees for courses that remain on their schedule after this deadline.
