THIBODAUX – Dr. Sue Westbrook, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health at Nicholls State University, became the newest member of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing on Friday, March 26.
Appointed by Gov. Bobby Jindal and sworn in by Associate Justice John L. Weimer of the Louisiana Supreme Court, Westbrook’s term of office is four years.
“I am honored and humbled to be appointed to this board by Governor Jindal,” Westbrook said. “I believe with my experience in nursing and nursing education, I can assist the board in fulfilling its mission and will do everything in my power to serve the citizens of Louisiana well.”
The board’s charge is to safeguard the lives and health of the citizens of Louisiana by assuring that persons practicing as registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses are competent and safe.
