‘The Stars Come Out’ at Nicholls in December

THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Chamber Singers will perform “The Stars Come Out at Christmas,” directed by Dr. Kenneth S. Klaus, professor of music and director of choral activities, on Friday, Dec. 2.

This 25th edition of the Chamber Singers’ Christmas Dinner Series will begin at 7 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Student Union. Doors will open at 6:30.

The formally attired Chamber Singers, with pianist Michelle Parro, staff accompanist, will perform Christmas songs associated with famous vocal entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Perry Como, Louis Armstrong and Andy Williams. Songs to be performed include “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Home for the Holidays,” “I’ll be Home for Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas” and more.

Attendees will enjoy a four-course holiday meal including the Chamber Singers’ Old English Wassail, a holiday soup, along with a salad, entrée and a full compliment of side dishes, dessert and coffee.

During Thanksgiving break, reservations can be made via voice mail or e-mail. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. Each table seats a maximum of eight.
