DoBee Plaisance, head women’s basketball coach at Nicholls State University, leads 130 women in a dance to Jimmy Buffett’s “Fins” during the 13th annual Women’s Night Out benefit, held Thursday, May 3, at Cypress Columns in Gray.
Proceeds from the event, totaling more than $50,000, will benefit women’s athletics at Nicholls. Sponsors included Entergy, the Tim Emerson team at Smith Barney, Peter Knoop of UBS Financial Services Inc., Coca-Cola, Buquet Distributing Company, Stephanie Hebert of Allstate, Edison Chouest Offshore and the Nicholls Foundation. The annual event featured a four-course dinner, party favors, live and silent auctions, and a night of entertainment and fun – including free, after-dinner limousine service.
