Two Oh Là Là Concerts Rescheduled for the Fall

THIBODAUX, La. — Fans of the Nicholls Oh Là Là Concert Series have something to look forward to in the fall: the two remaining 2019-2020 season shows have been rescheduled.

Nicholls State University has canceled or postponed all spring events because of COVID-19.

But the Office of External Affairs has been working to bring talents back to campus to complete its promise to season ticket holders.

World-class pianist John O’Conor will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The Irish pianist won the first prize at the 1973 International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna. The French, Austrian and Japanese governments have recognized and honored him for his service to the music industry.

Soul of America will present its tribute to Aretha Franklin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The ensemble delivers a powerful performance of the greatest soul hits ever written in America. Close your eyes and feel the heat from this electrifying ensemble. Open them and take a trip back to a time when music made in the U.S. ruled the airwaves.

Both concerts are in the Mary and Al Danos Theater.

Contact Monique Crochet at monique.crochet@nicholls.edu or (985)448-4110 to purchase tickets. If season ticket holders are interested in a refund for one or both shows, contact Crochet. Tickets for the lower section are $30 and for the upper section, $25.

The 2020-2021 season is currently being planned.
