THIBODAUX, La. — Best Value Colleges named Nicholls State University’s Health Sciences Program one of the Top 10 health sciences programs in the country.
Nicholls came in at No. 8 on the top 30 list and is the only university from Louisiana.
The online educational resource uses annual, in-state tuition and graduation rates to compile their rankings.
“This is such an honor to be listed among the Top 10 schools,” said Barbara Blake, department head of allied health sciences. “It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter how large a program is, it is the dedication and attention to excellence that is important. Our faculty and staff work hard to ensure the success of our students. It is not just about getting a degree. We truly care about our student’s goals, and provide one-on-one attention to guide them along the correct path.”
When mentioning Nicholls, the website highlighted the available specializations, including pre-professional, nutrition and food services, communicative disorders, pre-athletic training and health and wellness.
“Nicholls State University in Louisiana may not be the most well-known school on this list, but it does have the best health science degree program in the state,” the ranking said.
The mission of the Health Sciences program is to prepare graduates for advanced educational and clinical practice options for healthcare professionals through teaching, research, and service.
