‘Colonels, put your game face on’ for Nicholls Homecoming

THIBODAUX – Homecoming Week at Nicholls State University is slated to kick off Sunday, Sept. 19. Themed ‘Colonels, Put Your Game Face On!’ the annual festival will include several activities, all of which are open to the public and many of which are free of charge.

“We are very excited about this year’s celebration, and we hope all Colonels from near and far will make plans to participate,” Deborah Raziano, director of alumni affairs, said. “Let’s make this year’s Homecoming the best yet.”

Events will begin Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. with the Homecoming Kick-Off BBQ, on the Acadia Drive green space – and conclude on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 26, with the closing of the Alumni Tennis Tournament at the Nicholls tennis courts.

The annual Homecoming football game is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at John L. Guidry Stadium, where the Colonels will take on Bacone College. Other Homecoming Week events include the annual pirogue races, the Homecoming Golf Tournament and the Class of 1960 Reunion.
