Nicholls Awards Record Number of Degrees at Spring Commencement

THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University awarded 759 degrees during its spring commencement ceremony on May 18, the most ever in a single ceremony.

Fourteen graduates completed their undergraduate coursework with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Those students are: Celia Andresen, an interdisciplinary studies major from Baton Rouge; Anna Babin, a secondary education major from Houma; Jonathan Bergeron, a chemistry major from Chauvin; Madalyn Beyer, a biology major from Houma; Kylie Dufrene, a nursing major from Houma; Claire Ferguson, a birth-5 early intervention major from Houma; Jamie Gravois, a nursing major from Vacherie; Tanner Lafont, a biology major from Cut Off; Ashley Lucas, a biology major from Thibodaux; Brooke Naquin, a biology major from Thibodaux; Jacqueline Nguyen, a secondary education major from Morgan City; Connor Pate, a biology major from Thibodaux; and Brock Williams, a biology major from Lockport.

In addition to those 13 students, 19 students finished summa cum laude for graduating with a 3.9 GPA or higher. Summa cum laude is the highest academic honor a student can achieve.

Those students are: Tatum Amedee, a nursing major from Thibodaux; Emily Battaglia, a health sciences major from Schriever; Cameron Belding, a biology major from Thibodaux; Caitlin Blood, an English major from Meridian, Miss.; Jared Boudreaux, a human resources management major from Houma; Cameron Bourgeois, a biology major from Thibodaux; Amber Brady, an accounting major from Lockport; Trent Brady, an accounting and finance double major from Houma; Carly Brown, a psychology major from Lockport; Briana Celestine, an accounting major from Houma; Devin Cormier, a biology major from Paulina; Reagan Daigle, a computer information systems major from Morgan City; Ashley Dufresne, a dietetics major from Houma; Elisabeth Keller, a history major from Lutcher; Luis Medina, an accounting and finance double major from Houma; Juliana Nguyen, a biology major from Amelia; Jade Piper, a health sciences major from Orange, Texas; Ashley Swink, an English major from Brookville, Ohio; and Jerry Trosclair, a computer information systems major from Franklin.
