Hayden Rice

Home Town: Houma, LA
Major:  Business Administration
Fun Fact: I was the Louisiana VFW Eagle Scout of the Year First Runner Up in 2020.

INTRODUCTION:

The Mr. and Ms. Nicholls Finalists will consist of 6 students (3 candidates for Mr. Nicholls, 3 candidates for Ms. Nicholls) who serve as role models for the entire university community. Students selected as finalists must exhibit qualities such as leadership, scholarship, good character, a respect for diversity, loyalty to Nicholls, true Colonel Pride and effective communication skills. The two students elected as 2023 Mr. and Ms. Nicholls are expected to be positive representatives of Nicholls State University.

Selection of Finalists will be based on Academic Performance and Co-Curricular points. The Mr. & Ms. Nicholls Selection Committee will select the 3 with the highest overall points for Mr. Nicholls and for Ms. Nicholls respectively. Students will vote for their choice during the Spring Election from March 21 to 23, 2023.  The results will be announced at Crawfish Day on April 20, 2023.

Co-curriculars must be updated in Presence by 4:30 p.m.

Who is eligible for Mr. and Ms. Nicholls Honor?

  • JUNIORS or SENIORS carrying a minimum of 9 hours, having earned 75 or more semester hours by the end of the previous Fall semester & must have 3.25 overall GPA.
  • GRADUATE STUDENTS carrying a minimum of 6 hours with a 3.5 overall GPA for undergraduate and graduate semesters combined.
  • Students in good standing with the university and not on disciplinary or academic probation.

 

Who may nominate a student for Mr. and Ms. Nicholls?

Students can be nominated by active Student Organizations, Greek Chapters or other groups, by another currently enrolled student or may self-nominate.
