THIBODAUX – Literary enthusiasts are invited to the Sixth Annual Jubilee Jambalaya Writers’ Conference, slated for Saturday, April 4, at the Terrebonne Parish Library main branch – located at 151 Library Dr. in Houma. The day-long conference, themed “The Writer’s Voice,” will kick off at 8 a.m.
Part of the 11th annual Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities at Nicholls State University, the gathering will allow participants to join fellow writers and readers in a wide-ranging discussion of the literary arts and the business of publishing – all led by working authors, editors, agents and publishers.
Wildlife photographer C.C. Lockwood, who has captured the unique sense of space in wild places as diverse as Louisiana swampland and the backcountry of the American West, is scheduled as keynote speaker. Lockwood’s work has earned him international acclaim, including the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award for conservation photography. His work, which has been published in National Geographic and other magazines, continues to reflect changes and perils in the natural world – and he is the author of more than a dozen books published by LSU Press. His newest book is C.C. Lockwood’s Atchafalaya.
