THIBODAUX – The Office of Continuing Education at Nicholls State University will offer a variety of non-credit courses for adults during fall 2010.

THIBODAUX – The Nicholls State University Division of Student Affairs honored outstanding faculty service to students at the first faculty meeting of the fall 2010 semester.

Dr. Lloyd Chiasson, professor of mass communication at Nicholls State University, was named Distinguished Service Professor at the first faculty meeting of the fall 2010 semester.

THIBODAUX – Dr. James Stewart, professor and head of the Department of Mass Communication at Nicholls State University, was awarded the Presidential Award for Academic Administrator Excellence at the first faculty meeting of the fall 2010 semester.

THIBODAUX – Dr. Luke Cashen, associate professor of management and director of MBA programs at Nicholls State University, was awarded the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence at the first faculty meeting of the fall 2010 semester.

THIBODAUX – G.I. Jobs magazine has named Nicholls State University a Military Friendly School for 2011 – an honor shared with 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. The recognition stems from the efforts of Nicholls to recruit and retain active military and veteran students.

THIBODAUX – Implementation of the Louisiana GRAD Act will result in higher tuition for state colleges and universities, but administrators at Nicholls State University say the rate hikes won’t affect the Pelican State’s standing as the southern United States’ best bargain for public higher education.

A number of distinguished guests attended the rededication ceremony for P. G. T. Beauregard Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Nicholls State University.

THIBODAUX – Officials with the Institute for Seafood Studies at Nicholls State University said Tuesday that consumers of Louisiana seafood can be confident in the findings of the collaborative testing and research that have been conducted by federal and state agencies responsible for the regulation of seafood, marine habitats, public health safety and quality standards.

THIBODAUX – The public is invited to attend the rededication ceremony for P. G. T. Beauregard Hall, one of Nicholls State University’s oldest buildings.
