2022-2023 Student Employee of the Year Nominees

Student employees play a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the university. Providing part-time job opportunities to students helps them finance their college education, gain educational benefits, and allows them to explore career options, discover strengths, develop relationships, make decisions, and learn responsibility. We hope to continue to grow quality workers and citizens for the region. We would now like to recognize all of the student employees nominated followed by an excerpt from each student’s nomination letter:

Aaliyah Wright

College of Business Administration/Dean’s Office
Nominated by: Dr. Marilyn Macik-Frey and Stacey Sparks

Aaliyah is a team player! Aaliyah takes initiative and is an active and valuable employee within the office. One of her greatest assets is her creativity and understanding of Marketing. She is able to take information she learns in her Marketing/Advertising Concentration courses and implement them into the promotional items she creates for us. Many of our best promotional material is the direct result of her work. She is not satisfied to simply do an “acceptable” job. She creates two or more options, brings them to her “customer” (the Dean) and makes sure her work is accomplishing the goal. It’s exceptional for a student to take this level of time and effort to make her work the best it can be. I believe Aaliyah takes her role seriously in the success of our college and it shows.

Ana Doucet

Nominated by: Kim Brown and Cambria Bouzigard

Our office selects student workers who are responsible, reliable, loyal and dedicated in their rolls, and Ana definitely possesses these qualities. We often see people stop to read them and walk off with a smile on their faces. Anne is mature beyond her years and has a drive that is not often seen in college students. She sets a goal and achieves it through hard work and persistence. She is calm, a welcoming presence in the dean’s office for students, faculty, and visitors and also takes great pride in her work by showing initiative daily. We never have to ask her to do anything because she is constantly checking to see if we need help with anything.
