Nicholls awards academic scholarships to first-time freshmen who meet certain criteria.To apply for a first-time freshman academic scholarship, you must do the following on or before January 5th of your senior year in high school:
- Submit your ACT scores to Nicholls
- Apply for admission to Nicholls
Once we have received the above information, you will be sent a letter explaining the status of your scholarship file. Your high school transcript will automatically be downloaded from the Louisiana Board of Regents Student Transcript System (STS) once you have applied. Our academic scholarships begin at an ACT score of a 24, and all scholarships require a minimum high school GPA of a 3.0. Applicants accepted for admission to Nicholls State University by January 5 may qualify to receive scholarships for 4 years based on their test scores and grade point average. Eligible students will receive an invitation to our scholars banquet. Students must attend the banquet to receive their offer or notify us if they are unable to attend.
This process is for first-time university applicants only. Transfer students should apply for scholarships once they start school.
