Available Scholarship Opportunities

The scholarships below are available for the Spring 2026 semester.

Applications should be submitted no later than the close of business Wednesday, January 7, 2026, or the deadline date noted in the scholarship description.  COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION TODAY!  If the application is not available online, you can pick up a copy of the application in the Scholarship Office, or you can email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for a copy.  Students who have received other scholarships/awards, have extra-curricular involvement, or are members of campus or community organizations may submit or upload a copy of their student activities resume.

ALLEN REED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [2@$300]:  Awarded to a full-time student at Nicholls State University.  The applicant must have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA and shall not be on university probation.  The applicant must be involved in at least two (2) University sanctioned campus organizations.  A student activities resume must be submitted with the application.  The scholarship is awarded for one semester only at $300.  The recipient can receive the scholarship only once. SGA officials cannot apply for this scholarship.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

THE ANDREW CARTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [2@ $300]:  awarded to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University.  The applicant must have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA and shall not be on university probation.  The applicant must show a commitment to leadership and service within the local/campus community.  This will be documented by either an essay from the applicant or a letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative of the student.  The scholarship is valued at $300 for one semester only.  SGA officials cannot apply for this scholarship.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

THE BOYSIE AND JOY BOLLINGER FIRST GENERATION ENDOWED UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $500]:  is awarded to a full-time, TOPS qualified student enrolled at Nicholls State University. The recipient will be a resident of Louisiana and must be awarded the federal Pell Grant. The recipient will be a first generation college freshman; neither the parents nor legal guardians will have earned a college degree. The recipient shall declare his or her major to be Culinary Arts.  Each recipient will demonstrate their commitment to the culinary profession through 2 (two) letters of reference.  The letters of reference must be submitted to the Scholarship Office.  The recipient will be eligible to receive the award for a maximum of eight semesters provided they maintain a 2.5 GPA.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

CALLAIS COMPANIES II ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $750]:  Awarded to a full-time student at Nicholls State University.  The recipient must be an employee or dependent of an employee of a company owned by the Callais Family.  If a qualified employee or dependent are not available, the recipient must be a graduate of a Louisiana high school with a 2.50 GPA.  The qualifying companies are United Community Bank and Pelican Waste and Debris, LLC.

CANDY FLEET SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]:  is awarded to a dependent of an employee of Candy Fleet Corporation. Second choice is given to graduates of Morgan City High School with a high school GPA of at least 3.0. Applicant must be enrolled in at least 15 hours.

THE CHRISTOPHER ANTHONY BENOIT, JR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $250]:  is awarded to a student admitted to Nicholls State University.  The student may be of any classification and enrollment status.  There is no minimum GPA level for this scholarship.  The applicant should be associated with Colonels E-Sports and have a major in the College of Liberal Arts.

CROSBY TUGS SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $250]:  Awarded to a South Lafourche resident with a 3.00 GPA.  The scholarship will be given to dependents of employees of Crosby Tugs, Inc.

F. MAX HARDBERGER SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $250]: is awarded to a full-time senior who is majoring in Biology with a Pre-Med Concentration. The applicant will have at least a GPA of 3.5. The recipient may receive the scholarship for two consecutive semesters, provided he/she maintains a 3.5 GPA and full-time status. The recipient need not reapply if the criteria are met during the first semester.

THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE 52 SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]: is awarded to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University. The recipient will be a resident of Lafourche Parish with a minimum 2.5 GPA or higher.  The student must be a declared Government, Political Science, or Criminal Justice major.  F.O.P. members or their immediate family can also apply.  F.O.P members or their immediate family can be any declared major.  Preference will be given to F.O.P. members or their dependents.  The value of the scholarship is $250 for one semester only.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

THE HELEN ALENE MELANCON EXCELLENCE IN BASEBALL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $375]: Awarded to a high school graduate who demonstrates strong academic and leadership achievements and is an athlete who will compete in intercollegiate Baseball at Nicholls State University. The recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student and be NCAA eligible. (A full-time student is defined as a student enrolled in 12 or more hours of credit courses.) The recipient must be receiving an athletic scholarship in baseball.  If awarded, the athletic scholarship may be reduced by the value of this award.  The recipient may keep this scholarship for four years provided they meet all the above criteria and maintains a 2.80 overall GPA.  The recipient must also demonstrate financial need.

THE HILL FAMILY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:   is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Nicholls State University.   The recipient will be pursuing a Masters of Educational Leadership and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Should there not be a candidate from this master’s program, second preference will be given to students of at least sophomore status majoring in Elementary Education or Human Performance Education.  The recipient will be a resident of Lafourche Parish.  If no applicant meets the residency requirement, Terrebonne Parish then Assumption Parish may be considered.  The recipient must be a resident of Louisiana.  The scholarship is awarded for two semesters.

THE HUGH JOHN PLAISANCE EXCELLENCE AWARD [1 @ $500]:  is given to a full-time student at Nicholls State University. The applicant must be of sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student classification.  The applicant must be a member of a student media entity (The Nicholls Worth, La Pirogue, KNSU Radio, or KNSU-TV).  The applicant must submit a 400-500-word essay about (1) why they joined student media, (2) how being a member of student media has impacted their college experience, and (3) how they plan to use their student media experience to advance their career/post-Nicholls plans.  To maintain the scholarship for the second semester, the applicant must remain a member of the student media entity and maintain good academic standing. THE DR. JAMES ‘JIM’ JOSEPH RUMORE, SR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:  is awarded to a Nicholls student enrolled full-time in the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute.  The applicant will be of either Sophomore, Junior or Senior classification.  There is no minimum GPA requirement to maintain this scholarship.  The applicant will have a Professional Concentration with a focus on savory.

LAFOURCHE PARISH BAR ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $250]:  Awarded to an applicant who has a 2.50 GPA and is a graduate of a Lafourche Parish High School.  The applicant must have completed at least 25 semester hours prior to applying.  Preference will be given to students who are within the Law Option Curriculum (Business Pre-Law) or Criminal Justice.

THE LEROY THERIOT MEAT & CHARCUTERIE CULINARY ARTS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $625]:  is awarded to a full-time student at Nicholls State University who is at least a part-time employee of Rouses’ Supermarkets or the child of at least a part-time employee of Rouses’ Supermarkets. The recipient must be enrolled in one of the programs within the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute.  Preference will be given to candidates interested in the butcher crafts.  The recipient must be a graduate of an accredited public or private high school. The recipient may keep this scholarship for one year provided he or she meets all the above criteria and maintains a 2.50 overall GPA.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

THE LESLEY WHARTON MARCELLO ENDOWMENT FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENT PUBLICATION SERVICE [1 @ $250]:  Awarded to a full-time (12 hours) student in good standing with the university at the time of nomination.  The recipient should have worked in Student Publication at Nicholls State University for at least a semester prior to nomination.  The application will include an essay on why working on the university newspaper or yearbook has or will help them in their majors, careers, or life.  The application will include a letter of nomination from someone who is best suited to nominate the student for this award, preferably someone in Student Publications who has had a chance to observe the student. THE MICHAEL C. AND CHRISTINE P. BOURGEOIS #1 ENDOWED 1ST GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $400]:  is awarded to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University.  The recipient must be a U.S. citizen.  Each recipient will be a resident and registered voter of Ward 6 in Lafourche Parish and have graduated from E.D. White Catholic High School, Houma Christian School, or Thibodaux High School.  If a recipient has not reached age 18 yet, he or she must register to vote at age 18 in order to remain eligible to retain the scholarship for future semesters.  Students who meet all other criteria but were home schooled or passed the GED are also eligible to apply.  The recipient must have at least a 2.8 GPA.  The recipient must be awarded the federal Pell Grant. The recipient will be a first generation college student; neither the parents nor legal guardians will have earned a college degree. Each recipient will be enrolled in either in the College of Nursing, the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Liberal Arts, or the College of Sciences and Technology.  Each recipient will be eligible to receive the award for a maximum of eight semesters provided they maintain a 2.8 GPA while earning at least 12 hours each semester.  The recipient must also remain Pell Grant eligible.  Special consideration will be given to the applicant’s character, leadership and participation in professional or charitable organizations, as well as to honorably discharged members of the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard.  Student must turn in a copy of their voter registration card.

THE MICHAEL C. AND CHRISTINE P. BOURGEOIS #2 ENDOWED 1ST GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP [3 @ $500]:  is awarded to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University.  The recipient must be a U.S. citizen.  Each recipient will be a resident and registered voter of Ward 6 in Lafourche Parish and have graduated from E.D. BOURGEOIS #4 ENDOWED UPPER CLASSMEN/ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $200]:  will be awarded to full-time Junior, Senior, or Alumni graduate student at Nicholls State University.  Each recipient must be a citizen of the United States and a registered voter in Ward 6 of Lafourche Parish and must attach a copy of their Voters ID Card to the application.  The recipient must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above for a graduate student and 2.0 or above for an undergraduate student.  The student may receive the scholarship for one semester, but past recipients can reapply along with other applicants for consideration each fall and spring semester.  Each recipient must be a Nicholls State University Upper Classman or Alumni.  Preference will be given to graduates of any high school in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish.

THE MICHAEL C. AND CHRISTINE P. BOURGEOIS #5 ENDOWED UPPER CLASSMEN/ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $ 375]:   will be awarded to full-time Junior, Senior, or Alumni graduate student at Nicholls State University within the Department of Biology.  Each recipient must be a citizen of the United States and a registered voter in Ward 6 of Lafourche Parish and must attach a copy of their Voters ID Card to the application.  The recipient must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above for a graduate student and 2.5 or above for an undergraduate student.  The student may receive the scholarship for one semester, but past recipients can reapply along with other applicants for consideration each fall and spring semester.  Each recipient must be a Nicholls State University Upper Classman or an Alumni.  Preference will be given to graduates of any high school in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish.

THE MICHAEL C. AND CHRISTINE P. BOURGEOIS #6 ENDOWED UPPER CLASSMEN/ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $ 300, 1@ $200]:   will be awarded to a full time Nicholls junior or senior student with the Bridge to Independence Program.  Priority consideration will be to an applicant that is citizen of the U.S. who votes in Ward 6.  If no ward 6 applicants apply, then a resident of Lafourche parish will be considered.  The Nicholls Bridge to Independence junior or senior must have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.  Past recipients and other applicants must reapply each fall and spring semester.  In addition, one 2nd year qualifying Nicholls Bridge to Independence Ward 6 student enrolled in the 2-year certificate program who is meeting all criteria previously mentioned may be eligible for a $200 scholarship.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

THE NICHOLAS LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:  Awarded to a full-time (12 hours) student of junior status or better majoring in either Information Systems or Computer Science.  The applicant must be a resident of Lafourche, Terrebonne, or Assumption Parish with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.

DR. PHILIP ROBICHAUX, JR. ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $300]: Awarded to a rising or a first semester senior who is applying to medical school. The recipient must be a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University who will have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.25. The recipient may receive the scholarship for two consecutive semesters, provided he/she maintains a 3.25 GPA. The recipient need not reapply if the criteria are met during the first semester.

RAYMOND ELLIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $300]:  Awarded to a full-time student of junior or senior classification.  The applicant must have at least a 2.50 cumulative GPA and shall not be on university probation.  A 200 word essay on the Impact of the Civil Rights Movement must accompany the application. The scholarship is valued at $300 for one semester only.  Each recipient can receive the scholarship only once. THE SCLASS/GEE SCHOLARSHIP FOR EDUCATION MAJORS [1 @ $300]: is awarded to a full-time (12 or more hours) student majoring in Education at Nicholls State University. Students majoring in Art, Music, and Math Education, who are in the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Technology, may apply.  Freshman applicants must have an ACT Score of 22 or higher with at least a 3.0 GPA.  Continuing students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  The applicant must have a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file with the Office of Financial Aid.  The scholarship is valued at $300 per semester for two semesters.  The applicant must have documented evidence of the impact their service has had on a particular group or individual (ex. volunteerism, service learning, field-work, or internships that show civic responsibility and engagement).  A co-curricular form must be submitted to document your leadership experience.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

SGA CAMPUS LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP [4 @ $300]:  Awarded to students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA who are not on academic probation with the university.  Interested students will submit their Ngage portfolio for consideration.  The recipients of the scholarship shall have the most achievements.  SGA officials are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

STUART A. LIRETTE, Sr., MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY STUDIES [1@$500]:  Awarded to a TOPS qualified student majoring in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Biology.  The recipient must be a full-time student maintaining an overall 2.50 GPA.

THE THOMAS LAWSON EXCELLENCE IN ACCOUNTING ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $1,250]:  Awarded to a high school graduate of Central Lafourche High School who demonstrates strong academic and leadership achievements and plans to major in Accounting at Nicholls State University. The recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at Nicholls State University. (A full-time student is defined as a student enrolled in 12 or more hours of credit courses.) The recipient may keep this scholarship for four years provided he or she meets all of the above criteria and maintains a 3.0 overall grade point average.

THE WESLEY “FRANK” POSKEY, JR ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]: is awarded to a full-time non-traditional student enrolled in the Petroleum Engineering Technology and Safety Management program at Nicholls State University seeking a Bachelor of Science degree. The applicant must be a resident of Louisiana and a citizen of the U.S. The applicant must be at least 30 years of age at the time of application.  The applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled in at least 12 hours.  The scholarship is valued at $500 per semester for two semesters.  The recipient must not be receiving a federal Pell Grant.  The applicant must have work experience in the oil and gas industry.

THE WILDON J. “JACK” AND CLAIRE SHINN SCHOLARSHIP IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC [1 @ $250] is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the Department of Music. The recipient will be classified as either a sophomore or junior and will have earned a 2.50 GPA at the time of the award. The recipient shall hold the scholarship for two consecutive semesters, providing all of the above criteria is met. The recipient must be a woodwind major currently enrolled in studio lesson and a major ensemble.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

The following scholarships are available for the Fall 2026 semester.

 

Applications should be submitted no later than March 31, 2026, or the deadline date noted in the scholarship description.  If you cannot print a copy of the application, please stop by the Scholarship Office in Candies Hall to request a copy.

**Students who have received other scholarships/awards, have extra-curricular involvement, or are members of organizations may submit a copy of their student activities resume to the Scholarships Office along with their completed application.

ALUMNI FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $800]:  awarded to a full-time student at Nicholls State University.  The applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of application.  The recipient will maintain a 3.0 GPA in core curriculum in addition to a cumulative 3.0 GPA.  The applicant must be classified at least a junior at the time of receipt of the scholarship.  Prior award of an Alumni Federation scholarship should not eliminate an applicant from current consideration.  Two letters of recommendation must accompany application and must be from persons not related to the applicant.  A copy of your college transcript and your co-curricular activity reporting form must accompany this application.  Applications are available here!

 ALUMNI FEDERATION FRESHMAN LEADER SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $800]:  Awarded to an incoming freshman for the upcoming fall semester.  The applicant must register as a full-time student for the fall term.  The applicant must have a high school GPA of 3.25 or higher with an ACT score of 20 or above.  A list of high school extra-curricular activities (resume) must accompany the application.  Applicant must show evidence of leadership through high extra-curricular and community activities.  Applications are available here!

THE CRIT PETTY SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time, first-time freshman student enrolled at Nicholls State University. Each recipient will be a graduate of Hahnville High School and must meet the following eligibility criteria.  Student shall be the child of a faculty member of Hahnville High School if possible.  Student may pursue any field of study.  Must have a minimum ACT score of 20 and GPA of 2.5.  Student should be involved in school and community life.  Please attach a copy of your high school resume.  Student must plan to pursue a four-year degree at Nicholls State University.  The student must include a picture and a short essay about themselves and their goals for the future.  Financial need may be considered.  Please contact your high school guidance counselor at Hahnville High School for an application.

THE DEBBIE RAZIANO ENDOWED ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500] is awarded to a full-time student who has achieved at least junior status. The recipient will have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. The recipient shall hold the scholarship for two consecutive semesters, provided all retention criteria are maintained.  The student will also be required to submit a co-curricular form showing active involvement in two (2) University sanctioned organizations and two (2) letters of recommendation.  Applications are available here!

THE ELWARD T. BRADY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [4 awards]: Awarded to full-time (12 or more hours) students at Nicholls State University who have achieved at least sophomore status.  The recipients must have been residents of Assumption, St. Mary, or Terrebonne Parishes during their senior year in high school.  The applicants must have and maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.0.  The applicants must have remaining financial aid need.  The scholarship will be applied to the remaining balance of mandatory tuition and fees after all federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships are applied.  Expenses for room and board will not be covered.  The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year, provided all previous requirements are met.  Recipients are allowed to reapply after the first year, provided all continuing eligibility requirements have been met.  Applications are available in the Scholarship Office or by emailing brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu

The 1969 GRADUATES OF THIBODAUX HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:  is awarded to a graduate from Thibodaux High School. The recipient must be a first-time, full-time freshman at Nicholls State University. To maintain the scholarship for the second semester, the students must be full-time and must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. The scholarship will be awarded for two consecutive semesters to students who demonstrate financial need.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE HALI COSS, LILY DUFRENE, AND MICHAILA BOWLING MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [2 @ $750]:  is awarded to a full-time student enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at Nicholls State University. The recipient will be classified as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate.  The recipient must be a graduate of Hahnville High School.  The recipient will demonstrate a financial need.  The recipient must have a declared major in either the Nursing or Allied Health fields.  There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year to begin in the fall semester.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application.  Incoming freshman can also pick up a copy of the application in their high school guidance counselor’s office.

THE J. NANNIE ENDOWED ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250] is awarded to a full-time student who has achieved at least sophomore status. The recipient will have and maintain at least a 3.2 GPA. The recipient shall hold the scholarship for two consecutive semesters, provided all retention criteria are maintained.  The student will also be required to submit a co-curricular form showing active involvement in at least one (1) University sanctioned organizations and two (2) academic and/or professional references (References must not be related to applicant).  The applicant must also submit a typed 250-word essay detailing why he/she should receive the scholarship.  Applications are available here!

JAMES LYNN POWELL SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $400]:  awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University, of at least sophomore classification. Applicant must be a Louisiana resident and maintain at least a 2.00 semester GPA.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE JANE MCCULLA RIVIERE MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1@$250]:  Awarded to a full-time, TOPS qualified student at Nicholls State University.   The recipient will be a graduate of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart High School or Sisters of Mount Carmel High School (Vandebilt Catholic High School, E.D. White Catholic High School, Brother Martin Catholic High School, Catholic High School of Baton Rouge, St. Stanislaus, McGill Toolen High School, or Mt. Carmel New Orleans Academy).  The recipient will be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior.  To maintain the scholarship for the second semester, the student will maintain at least a 3.00 GPA.  The scholarship will be awarded for one year.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE JULIA TUCKER PREGEANT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]:   is awarded to a full-time student enrolled at Nicholls State University. K & B MACHINE WORKS, INC. SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250 per semester for one year]: Awarded to a dependent of an employee of K & B Machine Works, Inc.  Applicants must have attended a Louisiana Technical College, earned a GED, or graduated from an accredited high school.  Applicants must be enrolled full-time or program full-time and must maintain a 2.50 semester GPA.  Applicant must also be enrolled in the General Studies Associate Degree Program or the College of Business Administration.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE LEE A. MEYER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP [1@ $2500]:  is awarded to a full-time (12 or more hours) first-time freshman student enrolled in Education at Nicholls State University. Applicants must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.  The applicant must have demonstrated financial need.  The applicant must be a graduate of Assumption High School and a resident of Assumption Parish.  The applicant must be the first person in their family to attend college.  The applicant must also have had sustained employment during high school.  The recipient cannot receive any other scholarships, with the exception of TOPS, during the award year.  The scholarship is awarded for one year (fall and spring) only at $2500 per semester.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE LUKE AND BETTY FORD ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:  is awarded to a graduate of E.D. White Catholic High School or Thibodaux High School.  The applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA at the time of application.  The recipient will maintain a 2.5 GPA in their core curriculum in addition to a cumulative 2.5 GPA.  The applicant must submit a 250-word typed essay detailing why he/she should receive the scholarship.  Two academic or professional references must be included in the application and must be from persons not related to the applicant.  A copy of the applicant’s high school/college transcript and the applicant’s co-curricular activity reporting form or high school resume must accompany this application.  Special consideration will be given to the applicant’s character, leadership, and participation in professional, charitable, or community organizations.  The applicant must not be in receipt of any academic scholarship aid.  Applications are available here!

M & L ENGINES/INDUSTRIES, INC. SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]: Awarded to an incoming freshman only until the end of their first year.  The applicant must be a full-time student, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and must be a resident of Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish. Priority is given to dependents of employees of the M&L Engines/Industries, Inc.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

The Michael C and Christine P Bourgeois Endowed Upperclassman Legacy Alumni Scholarship is awarded to a High School graduate of a Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish High School or have a GED equivalency certificate, a full-time enrolled Junior, Senior or Nicholls Alumni Graduate student. The applicant must be in good academic standing, submit an “active” Lafourche Parish Ward 6 Voter Registration Card with the application and currently votes in Ward 6 elections, and a typed 250-word essay detailing why he/she should receive the scholarship. He or she must provide two academic and/or professional references.  References must not be related to the applicant. There will be “priority consideration” to any Louisiana or USA Branch Military Member or Veteran, a Thibodaux or ED White High Schools Graduate and any applicant of minority ethnicity.  Applications are available here!

NICHOLLS ALUMNI LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]:  To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, a student must have at least one parent who has completed a verified program of study at Nicholls. The student must also be a full-time student in good academic standing. The student must also submit 3 (three) letters of recommendation along with the application.  The student is awarded $500 per semester for the fall and spring semesters of the year awarded.  Applications are available here!

THE NORMAN SWANNER SCHOLARSHIP FOR A GRADUATE OF WEST JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL [1@$250]:  Awarded to a graduating high school senior from West Jefferson High School enrolling full-time at Nicholls State University. The student will have the minimum ACT scores to be admitted to Nicholls State University. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who can demonstrate financial need. The recipient may hold the scholarship for two consecutive semesters. PELTIER FOUNDATION NICHOLLS ALUMNI LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $550]: To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, a student must have at least one parent who has completed a verified program of study at Nicholls. The student must also be a full-time student in good academic standing. The student must also submit 3 (three) letters of recommendation along with the application. THE PI KAPPA ALPHA ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]:  Awarded to a full-time (12 or more hours) student of either junior, senior, or graduate student classification.  The recipients will have and must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.  The recipient will be able to display exemplary performance with extra-curricular activities.  The activities may be either at Nicholls or in the recipient’s local community.  The activities may include, but are not limited to, charitable associations, student government, on-campus clubs/associations, non-scholarship sports, community service and enhancing Nicholls through public relations.  Applicants must submit a copy of their updated co-curricular form to the Scholarship Office after application has been completed.  Applicants should identify any affiliation with PiKA Fraternity or its members/alumni. THE ROTARY CLUB OF HOUMA SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $500]:  will be awarded to a graduate of a Terrebonne Parish High School. The student must be enrolled full-time or plan to enroll full-time at Nicholls State University for the fall semester proceeding graduation.  The award will be given to a student who has participated in community service activities, whether through service organizations in high school or on their own initiative. The service performed should reflect the motto of the Rotary Club – “Service Above Self.”  The applicant must supply the Scholarship Office with a completed high school resume.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up with your high school guidance counselor.

THE SYNERGY BANK EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1 @ $250]:  is awarded to a full-time incoming freshman who plans to major in Business at Nicholls State University. The applicant will have a 3.25 high school GPA and an ACT composite score of 20 or above. The applicant must submit a high school resume listing all high school extracurricular activities.  The applicant must also submit a list of leadership, non-high school related extracurricular, and community activities.  Awarded scholarships will be in the amount of $250 per semester for one year only.  The applicant must submit a typed 250-word essay detailing why he/she should receive the scholarship. THE THIBODAUX ROTARY CLUB will annually award scholarships to a graduate of E.D. White Catholic High School and to a graduate of Thibodaux High School.  The value of the scholarship will be $750 per student per semester ($1500 per year).  The students must be seniors from E.D. White Catholic High School and Thibodaux High School. To receive the award, the recipients must graduate from their respective high schools and enroll full-time at Nicholls State University the fall semester following their high school graduation. Preference will be given to students who have participated in community service activities, whether through service organizations in high school or on their own initiative.  Financial need will be a consideration when awarding this scholarship.  The applicant must supply the Scholarship Office with a completed high school resume.  Email brandy.stpierre@nicholls.edu for an application or pick one up at the Scholarships Office.

THE TIFFANY PELLEGRIN ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a graduate of South Terrebonne High School. The recipient must be an entering freshman enrolled as a full-time student at Nicholls State University. (A full-time student is defined as a student enrolled in 12 or more hours of credit courses.) The recipient may keep this scholarship for the spring semester provided he or she meets all of the above criteria and maintains an overall 3.00 GPA.  Please contact your high school guidance counselor at South Terrebonne High School for an application.
